Simon Beale, Group Shipping Manager, T&G Global, has been elected as the new Chairperson of the NZ Shippers Council.
Simon replaces Mike Knowles (Zespri) who stood down after 5 years at the helm, at the recent NZ Shippers’ Council AGM.
Based in Havelock North, Simon has worked for T&G Global (formerly Turners and Growers & ENZA) for 19 years. The group currently ships from 11 countries to 66 destinations around the globe.
Simon was previously a co-deputy of the NZSC and has been a member of the Council’s executive committee for several years.
Murray Horne, General Manager Lodestar at Oji Fibre Solutions, and Tonille Crombie, General Manager Open Country Brands & Supply Chain at Open Country Dairy, were elected as co-deputies.
Mike Knowles remains on the Council’s executive committee, alongside Tim Ritchie (Meat Industry Association), Robin Piggot (Dominion Salt), Andrew Cleland (Fonterra), Robert Stowell (Synlait), Karem Esqueda (Asaleo Care), Joanne Wilson (Silver Fern Farms) and Cecil Grant (Rayonier).
